I too enjoyed the entire concert. For me the highlight of the evening was the final piece, Norman Dello Joio's exciting "To St Cecilia". As the last notes were dying away people around me in the audience were exclaiming "wow", "amazing", "beautiful". That's unusual. I think this setting is very fine, and I had been waiting for 30 years to hear a live performance of it. I was not disappointed by the music or the performance. The combination of this excellent chorus, soloists and a very full brass section sounded wonderful. Congratulations to John Ehrlich and the Spectrum Singers for placing this rarely heard work on their program.
